As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, education in Colombia underwent a drastic change with the implementation of virtual learning. Although this was a necessary strategy, it exposed a significant inequality: a high percentage of the population does not have access to the internet, which prevented many children from continuing their studies properly.
In Colombia, thousands of children and adolescents were affected by school dropout during this period. Many of them spent months—and even years—without interacting with a teacher, without academic support, and without the tools needed to advance in their educational process.

In response to this reality, God placed in our hearts the calling to serve the Granizal community, in the municipality of Bello, which borders the city of Medellín. Granizal is a community made up mostly of displaced families, facing high levels of social vulnerability, overcrowding, and limited resources.

According to research, this area is home to thousands of families living in difficult conditions, where several people share very small spaces and lack access to basic opportunities. Faced with this situation, we understood that not only material assistance was needed, but also a deep transformation of the heart and the way of thinking, through the message of Jesus.

For this reason, we launched an academic support and tutoring program in which our volunteers teach subjects such as mathematics, reading, writing, and other fundamental areas, using didactic strategies that facilitate learning. At the same time, we share biblical values and truths, convinced that Jesus + education is a powerful combination to bring about social transformation.

We firmly believe that real change begins in the heart, and that when a person encounters Christ, their life, their family, and their surroundings can be restored.

Current Impact (2026)
Thanks to God’s faithfulness, the commitment of our volunteers, and the support of generous individuals, we are currently serving approximately 240 children and adolescents and 98 mothers in the Granizal community and nearby areas.

Each week, we accompany their academic, spiritual, and personal growth processes, planting hope where discouragement once existed, and faith where uncertainty once prevailed.

Our Challenges and Dreams
Today, we face great challenges, but also great dreams.

Currently, we do not have our own facility, which has forced us to change locations on several occasions. This affects the continuity of our programs and limits the reach of our activities. However, we dream of having our own center where we can:

• Provide consistent follow-up and discipleship for children, youth, and mothers.
• Expand academic classes and school support programs.
• Offer vocational training workshops for mothers, enabling them to generate income and strengthen their dignity.
• Implement a community dining program to meet one of the most urgent needs of the community: food.

Additionally, we need more people with willing hearts to serve as volunteers—individuals who will join this mission and help us continue bringing love, grace, and hope to those who need it most.

Our Calling
God has called us to serve this community, to walk alongside them, to weep with them, and to believe together with them that a different future is possible. We seek not only social change, but a deep transformation of the heart—one that only Jesus can bring.
